Step 1 In Planning Your Boudoir Photoshoot – Choose Your Moods

Planning

There are many different moods or vibes you can choose for your boudoir photoshoot. Let’s talk about what I would categorize are the 4 main moods. Start here when planning a boudoir photoshoot.

*Before* you start thinking about what outfits you want for your photoshoot, it’s important to think about what moods you like first. This will help set the stage for what kind of outfits you should look for in your closet and go shopping for.

For your boudoir photoshoot, you can choose to have any or all of the moods. They’re all equally great and you can’t go wrong.

1. Fun & Flirty

Fun & Flirty is the 1st mood. This mood is more ‘girl next door,’ subtle, or just toned down from the other moods.

If you’re feeling nervous about your very first boudoir photoshoot – starting the photoshoot with fun & flirty is a great place to get ‘warmed up’ and comfortable before moving on to other moods.

If you’re not sure how much of your body you want to reveal during your photoshoot – that is totally fine. There’s never any pressure to do more than what you’re comfortable with. As you can see with these Fun & Flirty photos – they are amazing and sexy still without having to do a lot.

2. Classic Boudoir

Classic boudoir is the 2nd mood. This is self explanatory because I would use this term to describe what I would call classic boudoir photos. Think ‘bra & panty sets’ and other classic lingerie sets. Sensual or sexy poses. This mood is very popular and it can also be used to create some very artistic boudoir portraits.

3. Edgy & Naughty

Edgy & Naughty is the 3rd mood. Once you’re part way through your photoshoot you’re definitely going to be feeling more confident and comfortable. If you’re wanting to let loose some more or get spicy, then this is the great time to do so with this mood. Edgy & Naughty can be done in a variety of ways, such as with outfits, poses, facial expressions, or going partially or fully nude.

4. Fantasy & Costumes

The 4th and final mood is Fantasy & Costumes. This is a fun mood to choose if you’re someone who loves the excuse to dress up or be in costume. Or maybe you want to try stepping out of the box of your normal choices and have fun being a different persona. This mood will surely make your boudoir experience unique and memorable.
