Doing a boudoir photoshoot can feel daunting and you may not know where to start. I’ve put together my top 6 tips to prepare for a boudoir photoshoot so that you can feel confident.

1. Think about what moods or vibes you want for your photoshoot
This is a great starting place. Browse through our ideas of photoshoot moods and pick 1 or as many as you like. This will help set the stage for everything else, it helps give you direction, and it will help you decide what to do for outfits.
2. Go through your wardrobe for outfit & accessory ideas
You might be surprised how many outfits you already own that would work great for a boudoir photoshoot. Here are just a few things to keep an eye out for in your closet – bra and panty sets, thigh high socks or stockings, heels, boxy or cropped sweater, loose or cropped white tee or tank, lace robe, fur shrug or blanket, costumes?!

3. Go shopping for new outfits
Treat yourself! Go pick out something for yourself that is going to make you excited to wear. There’s no better opportunity than a boudoir photoshoot to have fun with a little shopping. You can go simple or go daring – it’s more about the concept of showing up with something new.

4. Pick out a hairstyle you want
Now that you have an idea on what mood you want your photoshoot to be and what outfits will go well with that, now is the right time to pick out a hair style. Do you want it curly or straight? Tousled? Down or up? Find an example photo of a hairstyle you like so that we can use that as a reference photo with your sytlist on the day of your photoshoot.

5. Eat something nourishing the morning of your photoshoot
Do not come to your photoshoot on an empty stomach. I understand you may be trying to avoid feeling or looking bloated during your photoshoot, but don’t worry about that. I got you covered with the right angles, lighting, and posing. Plus don’t forget there’s also Photoshop – I’m an expert in Photoshop.
You’re going to be doing a lot – so you want to be nourished with good energy. You want to have energy and a postive mindset!

6. Come with clean hair and no makeup on your face
Your stylist will want you to show up for the photshoot with clean, dry hair, and no makeup on. This is the right blank canvas we need to get you started on your glam.
